The documentary film “Unknown Prisoners” will be screened in Istanbul as part of “TRT Documentary Days.” According to information provided by the film’s director, Cem Kar, the documentary “Unknown Prisoners,” in which 75 Turkish Cypriots taken from their homes after the 1974 Peace Operation and 11 journalists who came to Cyprus from Turkey during the same period and were taken prisoner recount in their own words their struggle to survive and be recognised, will be shown to audiences today at 16:00 in TRT’s historic building in Harbiye, Istanbul. After the documentary, which will be screened with English subtitles, director Cem Kar will take part in a discussion.
The documentary film “Unknown Prisoners,” which also includes secretly filmed footage, is competing as a TRNC production in the “2012 TRT Documentary Awards”.
