Saturday Night, We’re at Farinelli

You must have heard your friends say things like, “We’re at Farinelli on Saturday night.” Of course, it’s worth thinking about what makes them say this. Oğuzhan is probably one of the main reasons. With his interpretations of songs and his stage shows, Oğuzhan never disappoints the guests who come to Farinelli to listen to him and have fun.

Alongside Oğuzhan’s performances, the famous guests who have recently appeared on stage at Farinelli are undoubtedly adding a special touch to the nightlife in Kyrenia. But what does Oğuzhan think about this? I spoke with Oğuzhan backstage at Farinelli about all of this, as well as his plans for the future.

Cem KAR: First of all, thanks for taking the time. I’ll get straight to the point: names like Fatih Ürek, Kutsi, and Öykü&Berk are performing at Farinelli. What do you think about that?

Oğuzhan: All the performers are my friends, and, to be honest, I really enjoy it too. It’s great to have a change now and then. Also, given the nature of Farinelli, guests can see these famous performers live and interact with them very closely. Aside from all that, having these events at Farinelli puts the venue in the spotlight, and that makes me happy.

So, Oğuzhan, your stage performances are great, and judging by the crowds at Farinelli, your listeners are very pleased with you too. Are you thinking of going to Istanbul to make an album?

Thank you. First of all, I should say that I love the TRNC and plan to live here for a long time yet. My artist friends in Istanbul keep saying the same thing: “Come, let’s make an album together.” I’ve already worked on an album before, but I got very tired. The process wore me down emotionally. You know how they say, “The Istanbul music scene is very tough”? That’s really true. Despite everything, I haven’t given up. Who knows, perhaps we’ll work on another album in the future.

What else are you doing? As far as I know, you often have outside engagements.

Yes, we often have outside engagements. I go to these with my orchestra, and we perform in various cities across Türkiye. We don’t have any shortage of work. We’ve performed in London and Prague many times before. We’ll also perform in Romania at the end of March.

I wish you continued success. Finally, is there anything you’d like to say?

I’d like to thank my listeners, who support me wherever I perform and never leave me on my own. I’d also like to thank you and HALKIN SESİ, which has always supported me.
