WOMEN

A GUIDE TO UNDERSTANDING

(Publication

Date: May 16, 2007)

As we move forward amid the indulgence of all the ways we communicate with one another, have we perhaps forgotten each other?

Or does what we do stem from a desire to defy the scientists eager to say, “We are in the age of communication”?

In the end, yes, we are in the age of communication, but the answer to the question “Who are we communicating with?” is rather thought-provoking…

***

Thanks to the information we have gathered from a brief search on the Internet, we can now build better relationships with women!

Oh, what was it like back in the day? It was impossible to build relationships with women!

But now? Thanks to information pouring in from everywhere, it’s child’s play.

That’s why, in the interests of serving my country, my people, and my fellow men, I’m bringing to your attention an article I read online.

Thanks to this article, my fellow men will now understand women much better.

Well done me…!

Here is a guide to understanding women:

If a woman says, “I’m not angry,” what she really means is, “I’m angry.”

If a woman says, “I see you like a brother,” what she really means is, “I’m not interested in you.”

If a woman says, “I like your friends, but…” what she really means is, “I didn’t like your friends.”

If a woman says, “You don’t pay enough attention to me,” what she really means is, “I’m curious about what you think of me and our relationship.”

If a woman says, “How do I look?” what she really means is, “I need more attention!”

Yes, my dear fellow men, I’m sure you won’t forget this favor.

Joking aside, what an interesting age we live in, isn’t it?

The lines above were taken from a text posted online to attract attention.

But whatever the case, I don’t think it would be wrong to say that “men now need a guide to understand women, and women need one to understand men.”

The strongest evidence supporting this view is the number of you who felt compelled to read this article after seeing its headline, and the number of people who read what I just wrote online.

On the other hand, the state of the world today is pushing people toward other ways of trying to understand one another.

The state I’m talking about is the “age of communication”…

I absolutely agree that we are in the age of communication; but we communicate with one another so much through different tools that, when we come face to face, we’re practically at a loss about what to do.

Naturally, we end up needing guides like this.

When I think about what this situation might lead to, I’m reminded of the Hollywood film “The Judge,” released in 1995 and starring Sylvester Stallone.

In the film, people had become so detached from having sex that they were now having sex in a virtual world through glasses worn over their eyes!

Of course, I’m no sociologist; but I can almost see societies in the future that cannot understand one another face to face and really do need a guide.

I certainly don’t want to make a Hollywood-style prediction and say that we’ll be fighting Terminators in the future.

But, on the other hand, I can’t help worrying that the people who reach the point of fighting because they cannot understand one another will be human beings turned into Terminators.

With so many people glued to television screens, looking for happiness in the virtual world, and unable to manage without a mobile phone, how realistic can it be not to have these kinds of concerns?

See you on Friday… Be respectful in traffic!
